What Happens Once Your Ashes Arrive With Us

The moment we have your dog’s ashes, one technician takes them on, and only those. We don’t run multiple sets of ashes side by side. There’s no mixing. There’s no chance of cross-contamination. Your dog’s ashes are your dog’s ashes, all the way through.

That technician then walks them through every stage of the process. Reduction down to a fine, pigment-matched particle size. Sterilisation between stages. Several extra steps developed in-house over the years to bind the ashes into the ink properly so they sit in suspension and don’t settle out in the bottle.

The whole job takes roughly five to nine days from arrival, depending on how busy the lab is. Once it’s done, your ink and any unused ashes are returned to you, tracked and signed for. Wherever in the world you are, the bottle gets to your door.

For your tattoo artist, this is the bit that matters. A lot of artists are cautious about ashes tattoos because they remember the days of clients turning up with an urn and asking for raw ashes to be tipped in. Can my local tattoo studio just put my dog’s ashes straight into their own ink?

Any reputable tattoo studio would never tip raw ashes into ink themselves. A studio is not built for the careful preparation work that cremated remains need before going under the skin, and doing this work in a studio is not safe for the client. How much of my dog’s ashes do I need to send?

Do I get the unused ashes back?
